Your First Women's Boxing Workout Class
I'm often asked what my first boxing class was like. I laugh to myself as I remember that October day and how excited I was, but shaking so much from the exhausting workout I could barely sign my name to the gym membership!
Let me walk you through your first day of a boxing workout.
You will wear comfortable gym clothes - I usually wear gym shorts and a tank top. I like to box barefoot, but boxing shoes are fine. You will have your hands wrapped and boxing gloves ready to go.
We start off stretching - this is so important I'll discuss it in detail in later posts.
Jump roping is next. I love to jump rope. The duration depends on your cardio level.
Some basic techniques and shadow boxing is next, followed by some circuit and strength training.
I love to end a class with a long plank exercise - it hits all muscles and makes you feel great. I do 4 minutes, and by your second or third class you'll be doing it easily!
